MicroBlend Introduces 5th Generation / Low VOC Paints and Primers made with DuPont™ Science
GILBERT, AZ. (March 23, 2009) –
MicroBlend, a Gilbert, AZ-based paint and technology company has introduced its fifth generation paints and primers ALL of which are less that 50 g/l VOC. (Volatile Organic Compounds)
“What’s remarkable about this generation of products is that every grade and sheen of our paints are below 50 g/l VOC, so every one of our products comply with the most rigorous air quality standard in the country,” said Thom Davis, Vice President of Marketing for the company. “Almost every paint company has low VOC products, but virtually no one can claim that all their products are this low and this ‘green’.”
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs are emitted by a wide array of product including paints and lacquers, paint strippers, cleaning supplies, pesticides, building materials and furnishings.
“Our ‘Gen 5’ products are superior for a number or reasons,” explained Randy Hughes, the Chief Technical Officer for MicroBlend, “We now produce six sheen levels; flat, eggshell, satin, the new low luster, semi-gloss and high gloss and achieve fast dry times and excellent rendition on dark colors. We have maintained outstanding performance and now with a low VOC line of products.”
The paints made with the MicroBlend’s Automated Paint Machine® were thoroughly tested by DuPont™ and are branded as freshCHOICE® by many retailers and in a number of private label applications in the United States and Canada. The products come in six interior and five exterior quality grades as well as a full range of primers.
